Story Arcs

In order to gain EXP and gain new traits, a character must complete a Story Arc. These are groups of threads of varying content that show a character’s growth and development, as well as fulfilling certain in-character requirements. At lower ranks, Story Arcs are smaller and easier to complete. This changes as a character goes up in rank, with their Story Arcs becoming longer and more difficult to complete the higher the stage they’re shooting for. While there will be generic-style Story Arcs that players can take up for the sake of convenience, they are encourage to create their own, unique Story Arcs to help showcase their character’s unique existence, as well as participate in other character’s Story Arcs to help connect the world into one big, wide, web. Story Arcs come in Three Flavours, being General, Specific, and Overarching. The difference between them is found below, as well as rough guideline on designing and pricing custom Story Arcs.

Story Arc Name |Story Arc Level | Requirements to Complete | Reward

General Story Arcs

These are story arcs that allow for a large variety of events included, their drawback being they require a lot of presence. Despite that, their rewards can be high and easily worth the effort.

Examples.)
Show Your Face | D/Wolf | Two D/Wolf Rank Heroic/Villainous Acts, One Social Thread, One Training Thread | 500 EXP, 15,000 Yen, 50 Fame

Make A Name | C/Tiger | Three C/Tiger Rank Heroic/Villainous Acts, Two Social Threads, Three Training Threads | 1,000 EXP, 50,000 Yen, 150 Fame

Find Your Place | B/Demon | Five B/Demon Rank Heroic/Villainous Acts, Three Social Threads. Three Training Threads | 3,000 EXP, 150,000 Yen, 500 Fame

Toe The Line | A/Dragon | Eight A/Dragon Rank Heroic/Villainous Acts, Five Social Threads, Five Training Threads | 5,000 EXP, 500,000 Yen, 1,500 Fame

Raise The Bar | S/God | 10 S/God Rank Heroic/Villainous Acts, 8 Social Threads, 8 Training Threads | 10,000 Exp, 1,000,000 Yen, 5,000 Fame

Specific Story Arc

These story arcs are shorter than General story arcs, but require specific content requirements to be fulfilled. Because of that, their rewards are smaller, but they can be completed at a faster rate.

Examples.)
Learning Forgiveness | D/Wolf | The character must spend two threads dealing with an intense anger and then end with them learning to let it go and accept the situation for what it is. | 100 EXP, 5,000 Yen, 10 Fame

Plague of Banks | Demon | The villain must spend three threads successfully robbing banks. This will require at least one Hero in each thread of equivalent rank or higher than the user failing to stop them. | 600 EXP, 30,000 Yen, 100 Fame

Guardian Hero | S | The hero must successfully protect their chosen City against five waves of attacks, starting from Wolf level threads and ending at a God level thread. Upon completion, they will be renowned as the Guardian Hero of that City. | 2,000 Exp, 200,000 Yen, 1,000 Fame

Overarching Story Arc

These Story Arcs are special in that it is impossible to complete them alone. The events that take place in these Arcs have the potential to change the world, or perhaps merely just a city. Regardless, a minimum of Three (3) different players are required to complete an Overarching Story Arc. They must each play a starring role in the Arc, and it must possess a linear plot from one thread to the next. Because of the complexity of their completion, they provide the greatest rewards.

Examples.)
Secret Lab Buster | C | The participants must travel to a secret, underground laboratory. They have received inside knowledge that it is the Secret Base of a Mad Scientist responsible for unleashing Wolf-Level Mysterious Beings across the country, and either apprehend or eliminate him. | 5,000 EXP, 50,000 Yen, 1,500 Fame

Journey to the Cloud-Eater Kingdom | A/Dragon | The participants must go on a grand quest to locate an ancient, mysterious kingdom and explore it for the sake of their people. Perhaps they will find a hoard of treasure or unknown crafting material, or perhaps the Mysterious Being said to guard the place will devour them whole, first. | 15,000 EXP, 1,500,000 Yen, 6,500 Fame

Key to the City | S/God | The participants are given control over a new city that has just been constructed. It is their job to guide it into becoming a prosperous, self-sustained nation. It is at their this discretion as to how this is accomplished (be it through diplomatic missions between the other cities, tapping into a unique natural instinct, or crushing anything that stands in their way, etc).
